Education: The North Clackamas and Estacada school districts failed to pass the state's on-time graduation rate during the 2009-10 school year, according to data recently released by the Oregon Department of Education. All other Clackamas County districts graduated a larger ratio of students than the state's order of 66 percent. Colton and Oregon City exceeded it by just three and four percentage points, respectively.

Budget reductions - especially the suspension of a popular Spanish immersion program- have put the school room in the headlines in late years, whichhas attracted a bit of candidates in the May 17 special election.
Lake Oswego: Jerry Wheeler, CEO of the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce, is going his place to become chairman and CEO of the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce in Huntington Beach, Calif. Also, a 77-year-old driver accidentally drove her car into a Lake Oswego sculpture garden. And the list of Police Chief Dan Duncan, who died the day before his retirement party last year, will be added next week to the Oregon Fallen Law Enforcement Officer Memorial.
Molalla: City Manager John Atkins announced during what he called a "pretty contentious" city council meeting Wednesday that he will withdraw in September or October.
Wilsonville: South Metro Area Regional Transit announced Thursday that they have partnered with Zimride to allow riders access to the ride sharing social network. And former Wilsonville Police Chief Dixon Andrews has been named police chief of Golden Beach.
Aurora: The state's aviation board decided to see new development optionsfor the Aurora State Airport Tuesday, choosing not to take an initial development plan for the busy airport just south of the Clackamas County line.
Clackamas County: A serial of capital improvements are driving Clean Water Services'proposal to increase sewer and stormwater management rates by 5.2percent for the district's 527,000 residents in Washington, Multnomahand Clackamas counties.

Colton: The three contested races in the May 17 special election for seats on the Colton Fire District Board figure to be milestones, no matter how they act out.
