They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

His list is Ares, and the destiny of man rests on his brawny shoulders. If he falls to the forces of evil, the man falls too. As one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he is far stronger than any mortal, but still he cannot defend his destiny forever. Not when his own brother plots against him.

Yet there is one last hope. Gifted in a way other humans can't-or won't-understand, Cara Thornhart is the key to both this Horseman's safety and his doom. But involving Cara will prove treacherous, even beyond the maddening, dangerous desire that seizes them the consequence they meet. For staving off eternal darkness could cause a staggering cost: Cara's life.Review: This is a very sexy and fast paced read.

Ares, his two brothers and baby are half angel, half demon incredibly hard and immortal. They are the Four Horsemen, Pestilence, War, Famine and Death, with the duty to protect humans. If the Biblical prophesies are set then they can press on the face of the angels. But a demonic prophesy says that if two seals can be crushed out of place they will show in the Apocalypse and become evil. Ares, who is War, is ever make for battle but socially stays to himself as he brings conflict where ever he goes. He formerly had a house but they were killed by hellhounds thousands of days ago when he first learned he was more than human. He has spent years seeking vengeance and stressful to run down and wipe out the hellhounds.

Now one of the brothers, Reseph, has had his seal broken and become evil Pestilence. He is intent on breaking Ares seal and delivery on the Apocalypse. The fallen angel who wears Ares` protective seal is targeted but before he is killed he manages to change the stamp to a human, Cara.

Cara is a self trained veterinarian and has a special healing gift with animals. She is afraid of her skills since she used them in ego defence and killed an attacker. A friend brings her an injured "pup" which turns out to be a hellhound puppy who bonds with her in substitution for healing. The Guardians break in trying to get the heel and terrifying her. To take matters worse, a strange man transfers a stamp to her chest.

Ares and his remaining good siblings must keep Cara safe and forth from Pestilence. Added to these problems is the fact that mankind are not alleged to carry seals and it will kill Cara unless they can change the seal. Cara is strong and loving. Though she looks weak she has an internal strength that she is leaving to take to get on as she and Ares chase and are chased.

There is much of activity with many varieties of malevolent beings and gory battles. There is heavy passionate sex balanced with a beautiful amount of growing love and tenderness. There is also quite a bit of rough language. This isn`t a script for the cautious but if you can take with the language, and if you like racy action and passion, this is a fine read.
